Xinjiang Oilfield Hutubi Gas Storage has exceeded the target of the ninth cycle of gas injection this year, exceeding the planned task by 180 million cubic meters and injecting 450 million cubic meters more gas than the previous year, with the maximum daily emergency peak transfer capacity in winter exceeding 30 million cubic meters and the inventory going up by another 10 billion cubic meters, storing “gas” for peak transfer this winter and next spring. The gas reserves will provide strong support for peak regulation this winter and next spring.
Hutubi Gas Storage is currently the largest natural gas storage reservoir in China, with a storage capacity of 10 billion cubic meters, and is the first storage reservoir in the West-East gas pipeline network. In addition to safeguarding the supply of natural gas to cities in northern Xinjiang, such as Urumqi and Changji, it can also be transported to cities along the West-East Gas Pipeline, such as Shanghai, to ensure the production of enterprises and people’s living needs. Compared with surface storage tanks, Hutubi Gas Storage, as an underground gas storage, has the advantages of large storage capacity, large regulation working gas volume, high safety and low cost.
Xinjiang Oilfield gives full play to the advantages of integrated management of “geology-drilling-ground”, ensures seamless integration and optimization of engineering construction and gas injection operation rates, efficiently organizes gas reserves to achieve all the reserves required, and achieves 10.1 billion cubic meters of gas reserves within a limited time frame. To achieve the target of stockpile reserve, guarantee the demand of winter peak regulation, accelerate the construction of adjustment projects, and complete the annual gas injection and construction tasks of gas storage over schedule.
In the gas injection production, the technicians implemented “zoning control, time-sharing, and one-well strategy” to manage the gas injection in a detailed manner, and used the 10 billion cubic meters of reservoir capacity efficiently by optimizing the regulation between wells, strengthening gas injection in stages, and increasing the injection in old wells, to fully exploit the gas injection potential of each well and systematically improve the reserve capacity. At the same time, scientific research on the characteristics of gas injection production, proposed a strong injection at the beginning, slow injection in the middle, and then strong injection at the end of the strategy, to achieve over-planned level of gas injection.
At present, Xinjiang Oilfield is pushing forward the construction of the Hutubi Gas Storage Reservoir Adjustment Project and actively carrying out the “100-Day Attack on Phase II Construction” to ensure that the gas recovery system and new wells of the Adjustment Project will be put into operation on schedule. It is expected that after the completion of the second phase of the adjustment project, the maximum daily gas production capacity of the reservoir will exceed 40 million cubic meters.
